Plastic waste, collected by ocean currents, mostly from populated shorelines and storm drains, have formed five enormous gyres in Earth’s oceans. Some estimate the size to be large as Texas! When plastics breakdown to smaller pieces they are mistaken as plankton and consumed by sea life. Working their way up the food chain these toxins re-enter our lives in seafood.
